It’s been a long time! Lots and lots going on – mostly in my writing life. Mostly, I’ve been making the same recipes (and y’all know that my husband is the one who cooks). He’s also the one who found a recipe for this and made it into his own. Honestly, I don’t think I’d eat nearly as well without him. 😉 So here we go! Let’s do this. An easy, vegan, homemade Nutella sweetened with fruit, so it’s healthy and delicious.
We put it on all kinds of things. Fruit, graham crackers, and (shown below) Homemade English Muffins. I also top my Baked Cherry Pie Oatmeal with it! Why not, right? Cherries and chocolate go SO well together. You can even stir it into Overnight Oats or Soaked Oatmeal. Honestly, it’s perfect for everything – even by the spoonful. Enjoy, friends!

A super-easy homemade vegan Nutella that's fruit-sweetened and so delicious!
- 1 cup hazelnuts
- 1/4 cup cacao
- 10-14 dates, pitted (soak in warm water for 1 hour if they're not soft)
- 1/4-1/2 cup water (for blending into desired consistency)
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
Add hazelnuts to high-speed blender (we used our Blendtec twister jar) and blend until it turns into butter.
Add cacao, dates, and some of the water and blend until smooth. Add water to reach desired consistency.
Blend in salt and vanilla until mixed well. Then store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1-2 weeks.
